Debido al éxito obtenido durante los años 80 por colecciones de juguetes cuya fama trascendió a varios medios de entretenimiento, como los son las series televisivas, las historietas y juegos de video (Transformers, Mi Pequeño Pony), Marvel intentó capitalizar en este fenómeno creando historiestas con el único propósito de convertirse en una serie de juguetes exitosos. Esto fue lo que concibieron./

Due to the success gained during the eighties by Toy Collections (Transformers, My Little Pony) that transcended to various entertainment niches like television, comics and videogames, Marvel tried to capitalize in this phenommenon by creating comics with the sole purpose to turn the characters into a succesful toy line. Artemis in the space age by Angie Wang

This illustrator, based in Portland, is simply amazing. She managed to conquer Frau Prau’s! heart thanks to her asian style, her precise and originally exquisit titles and last but not least, her particular use of colour. The combinations resemble in a way to those of the 80’s, but her work is full of today references.

If you liked it, check out more of her masterpieces at her website. Also you’ll enjoy her new project, Wangie, a fashion magazine, that instead of photographing flesh and blood models makes use of Wang’s 2D muses for showing the new collections./

Esta ilustradora, con base en Portland, es simplemente maravillosa. Conquistó fácilmente el corazón de Frau Prau! gracias a su estilo oriental aunado a sus títulos precisos y exquisitamente originales, sin dejar atrás su uso particular del color, cuyas combinaciones recuerdan de alguna manera a los ochenta; sin embargo su trabajo está lleno de referencias actuales.
